TRISHA Tubu is done with coming close.
After seasons of heartbreak and near-misses, Tubu made sure this latest opportunity wouldn’t slip, powering Farm Fresh to a stunning four-set win over PLDT to finally break through in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals.

Farm Fresh’s top gun delivered a hero’s performance with 28 points, including five of Farm Fresh’s last seven points, sealing what could be a pivotal first win in their semis debut.
It was the kind of moment she had long been wanting and working for.
“Talagang dumaan kami sa process, like from zero to malapit na to isang win lang, semis na kami pero biglang nabibitawan,” Tubu told SPIN.ph.
“Naging lesson din siya sa’kin personally kasi ‘yung last conference ‘yung pinakamasakit na heartbreak ko ever, na nasa rank 1 kami tapos isang talo lang, nalaglag na.”
That pain, especially after squandering the No. 1 seed in last year’s Reinforced Conference, has stayed with her, not as a ghost to exorcise but as fuel to move forward.
“‘Yun ‘yung naging fuel ko na ayoko na ‘yun ma-experience at ayoko nang ma-feel ‘yung hurt na ‘yun, kaya take it or regret it talaga.”
Almost isn’t enough
Tubu is no stranger to historic runs.
As part of Adamson’s breakthrough bronze medal finish in UAAP Season 84, she already knows what it takes to get to the podium.
But with Farm Fresh, she wants more than just another milestone.
“Sobrang gusto, sobrang gustong-gusto. Sa Adamson, first team bronze in history. Sa Farm Fresh, first naming semis ‘to,” she said.
“Ayaw ko namang mag-stop na dito na hanggang first semis lang namin. Hopefully, first podium din namin talaga. ‘Yun ‘yung talagang ayaw na naming bitawan.”
With the Foxies now knocking on the door of something bigger, almost won’t be enough anymore.
“Sabi nga ng coaches, hihinto pa ba kayo? Nandito na kayo eh, so kailangang i-push niyo na ‘yung sarili niyo talaga,” Tubu added.
