TRISHA Tubu fired a career-high 33 points as Farm Fresh welcomed Rachel Daquis with a 28-26, 17-25, 25-19, 25-17 win over Galeries Tower in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Foxies’ leading scorer went on a tear with 28 attacks, four aces and one block to even their league record to 4-4.
Tubu's fourth 30-point game of her PVL career becomes the second-highest single-game scoring output this conference behind Brooke Van Sickle's 34-point night in Petro Gazz' season-opening win over Choco Mucho.
Alyssa Bertolano added fuel to the Farm Fresh fire on offense with an 11-point, 12-reception double-double as Jolina dela Cruz pitched in 10 markers in her third game back in the PVL.
Speaking of returns, Daquis made a brief cameo in the first two sets of the match with one attack point to her name.
Veteran Highrisers Ysa Jimenez and Andrea Marzan paced their seventh loss in eight games this conference with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
Bigger than numbers
Being the numbers guru that he's always been, Farm Fresh head coach Benson Bocboc didn't care about statistics in their first game since a four-set letdown to Chery Tiggo five days ago.
With Tubu hitting 33 and Daquis ending a 551-day wait, Bocboc is fueled by the promise of what his two stars can still reach and pull off as the conference runs it course.
"Sabi ko lang maglaro lang sila. ‘Yun ‘yung instruction ko actually going here. Galing sa talo kasi, so we need to get back that confidence. Sabi ko, wala akong pake du'n sa numbers na ilalabas niyo. Maglaro lang kayo, magtulong-tulong lang kayo," the Foxies head coach said.
"Mahaba naman ‘yung conference natin. Kung mapapansin niyo, ang daming pinaiikot na players talaga. We need them to expereince playing talaga, regardless kung anong experience nila before, kailangan masama sila at makapag-contribute sila sa team ng Farm Fresh.
"Hopefully, ‘yung experience na ‘yun madala hanggang dulo. Kung ano ‘yung mission ng team to get those wins and get to those higher rankings, lahat ‘yan makakatulong."
