CREAMLINE rode on Tots Carlos’ career night to roll past Akari, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19, for its second win in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena.
The three-time PVL MVP’s 31 points on 30 attacks and one ace on 55 percent attacking efficiency marked her highest scoring output in the league since 2019, where she fired 29 markers in Motolite’s five-set win over BanKo Pilipinas.

"'Yung nilalaro ko ngayon, even me, 'di ako makapaniwala," said Carlos. "Ako naman, gusto ko lang natututo ako palagi sa lahat ng games. Hindi lang naman dumadaan lang 'yung games [kasi] may mga natutunan din naman ako sa mga ganitong sitwasyon [kung] ano'ng gagawin [at] honestly, gusto ko matuto pa."
The Cool Smashers' second game of the season marked the first for longtime Choco Mucho aces Bea De Leon and Denden Lazaro-Revilla, who had five points and 11 receptions respectively in their debut outings.
And in making the switch from purple to pink, the newest Creamline duo couldn't be more pleased with such a smooth transition in which they felt right at home straight away.
"Feels really good. ‘Yun nga, hindi lang ‘yung team ‘ yung nag-welcome sa’min pati ‘yung fans ng Creamline very welcoming and very supportive," said De Leon. "Sobrang gaan ng feeling makapaglaro today and thank you for the opportunity, coach (Sherwin Meneses)."
Lazaro-Revilla added: "Sobrang init ng pagtanggap samin dito and sobrang thankful din talaga kami naman na nabibigyan kami ng opportunity dito. So yun, thank you din talaga sa kanila na chineer nila kami today."
The reigning champs might have dropped a set to Akari, now the new home of former Cool Smasher Ced Domingo who pitched in four markers in the loss, but the one-two scoring punch of Carlos and Jema Galanza (15 points) proved too much for the 0-2 (win-loss) Chargers.
