NCAA Season 98 MVP Mary Rhose Dapol has found a new home, as Akari signed the 25-year-old outside hitter as its fourth acquisition for the 2026 PVL season.
The Perpetual product first broke into the PVL with Foton before taking a brief detour in the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA), where she suited up for the Bacoor City Strikers until working her way back to the pros with Chery Tiggo.

However, Dapol’s stint with the Crossovers was cut short following the team’s disbandment last December.
That turn of events opened the door for Dapol and former Chery Tiggo teammate Reyann Cañete, the 29th overall pick in last year’s draft, to test their skills abroad.
The duo was tapped to play in the inaugural Raajje Super League in the Maldives, with former Crossovers deputy coach Kungfu Reyes playing a key role in facilitating their brief import stints.
Dapol made the most of the opportunity, helping banner L. Maabaidhoo to a thrilling five-set comeback win over L. Gan, 21-25, 25-17, 20-25, 26-24, 15-10, to clinch the championship.
Akari's new sparkplug
While her overseas run was shortlived, Akari stands to benefit from Dapol’s exposure to international competition, as the franchise continues its pursuit of a breakthrough title.
The Chargers have finished on the podium three times, but have yet to win it all.
Dapol’s signing boosts Akari’s offseason haul to four, joining fellow former Chery Tiggo players Baby Jyne Soreño and Cza Carandang, along with ex-Cignal standout Judith Abil, as the Chargers continue to reshape their roster for a title push.
