SHERWIN Meneses is done downplaying the longstanding narrative on Creamline having the edge come big games.
This time, he’s owning it, as they march onto their 15th PVL Finals appearance.

“Actually, kada naman may laban, sinasabi nila na advantage ang Creamline eh, so talagang may advantage ang Creamline,” he told reporters.
“Thankful kami kasi may advantage kahit papano. ‘Yung crowd, nasa amin, ‘yung chemistry nandyan, pero finals na ‘yan eh. Hindi ganun kalaki pareho ‘yung teams, so kumbaga, match talaga. Hindi palakihan. Kumbaga, skills ‘yung maglalaban sa finals."
This time, though, it’s not just about the crowd or reputation, as Meneses is putting his faith squarely on continuity - a core that has stayed intact through successes and setbacks alike.
“‘Yung core ng Creamline, talagang senior team na eh. Blessed kami kasi ‘yung team namin, nandiyan pa rin ‘yung mga seniors," he said.
"‘Yung ibang teams kasi, talagang nagpapalakas sila, nagbubuo sila ng talagang competitive na team. Pero ang Creamline talaga, ‘yung core namin, nandiyan pa rin."
Creamline is still here
Even as the Cool Smashers went through a year-long finals drought and beyond that in terms of last winning a title back in 2024, sticking with the status quo roster-wise actually remains their best asset.
"‘Yun ‘yung blessing sa’min na hanggang ngayon, sila pa rin ‘yung naglalaro. ‘Yun ‘yung magiging advantage namin, ‘yung chemistry ng team," Meneses said. "Ang advantage na ng Creamline is talagang buo and healthy.”
Now, it’s all about seeing if that foundation is strong enough to carry the Cool Smashers to an 11th title and deliver Meneses his eighth as head coach.
