The Japanese mentor has been named director of volleyball operations for both Nxled and Akari, but will keep his coaching post with the Chameleons ahead of his second PVL conference in charge.

As per Akari Sports, new assistant coaches for both clubs and the Chargers’ interim head coach are set to be named in due course.

“With the move, the Akari management hopes for the Chargers and Chameleons to climb up the ladder and contend for a title when the new PVL season kicks off on February next year,” Akari said on Thursday afternoon.
In the recently concluded 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference, which marked Nxled’s pro league debut, the 35-year-old mentor steered the Chameleons to a ninth-place finish with a 4-7 win-loss slate.
Among the quartet of teams Nxled bested in its first-ever PVL stint are Farm Fresh, Galeries Tower, Gerflor, and Akari.
As Minowa, husband of former PVL MVP Jaja Santiago, stays onboard as Nxled head coach, sister club Akari awaits the successor of Philippine women’s national team mentor Jorge Souza de Brito ahead of the league's 2024 season-opening conference beginning February 17.
