ATENEO coach Tai Bundit will work for newcomer Pocari Sweat as consultant in the 13th season of the Shakey’s V-League kicking off on May 15.
Five days after the Lady Eagles were dethroned by La Salle in the UAAP women’s volleyball, news spread that the Thai mentor will call the shots for the V-League's newest team.
However, V-League commissioner Tony Boy Liao told SPIN.ph that Bundit will not be the head coach for Pocari Sweat, but will instead serve as a consultant.
“Bali ang mangyayari tutulungan niya ang Pocari Sweat, actually hindi siya talaga ang coach,” Liao said on Thursday afternoon.
“Kasi he’s going back to Thailand on May 17 so parang consultant lang siya. Pumayag naman si Tai kahit walang bayad para lang makatulong,” added the league official.
Aside from Pocari Sweat, Air Force, National University, University of the Philippines, Kia, provincial teams Baguio and Iriga and another team that will be mentored by veteran coach Nes Pamilar are set to see action in the Open Conference.
