TACLOBAN fanned its hopes for the last Final Four spot in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference with a 25-11, 25-12, 25-19 victory over Adamson-Akari Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Dimdim Pacres led the Fighting Warays' pounding of the hapless Lady Falcons with her 17 points built on 14 spikes, two service aces, and a block.
The former UST opposite spiker also gained ample support from Jovie Prado, who dropped 13 kills to keep Tacloban at fifth place with its 6-7 card.
"Nandoon pa rin yung chance," quipped Fighting Warays coach Nes Pamillar. "So sabi ko nga sa mga player na ituloy-tuloy natin. Hindi tayo pwedeng mag-relax hanggang dulo.
Tacloban's win kept it in the race for the fourth spot as its currently on a tight race with Petro Gazz (6-5) and Pocari Sweat (5-7).
"Marami pang pwedeng mangyari. Pwedeng two-way tie, pwedeng three-way tie. Kailangan focused lang kami sa dulo," said Pamillar.
Trisha Genesis collected seven points for winless Adamson-Akari, which stayed at last place after going winless through 11 games now.
The Lady Falcons missed the services of Bern Flora, who is nursing a back spasm, and Lea Ann Perez, who suffered a sprained right ankle.
