TACLOBAN survived a gritty last-ditch stand by Iriga-Navy to complete a 25-20, 25-22, 27-25 victory in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Wednesday.
The Fighting Warays led 23-19 in the third set but saw Iriga-Navy reach set point first at 25-24, before winning the next three points behind Thai import Hyapha Amporn to wrap up the match.
Tacloban improved to 3-3 (win-loss) to catch Petro Gazz and Pocari Sweat-Air Force for joint fourth place while Iriga-Navy remained at the bottom on a 1-4 card.
