ANOTHER coaching change seems to be headed the PVL's way as the league continues to experience a coaching upheaval.

After the parting of ways between Farm Fresh and Benson Bocboc, sources revealed a much bigger change given that this coach has led his team to multiple breakthroughs and franchise milestones over the last few conferences.

SPIN.ph reached out to the coach, who said he has not been informed yet of his team's final decision regarding his impending exit.

SOURCES SAY: Up and coming PVL team eyeing coaching change

The change in the head-coaching position in this ballclub has become an open secret, so much so that the identity of his successor is known to some quarters.

The team reportedly didn’t have to look far to pick the successor as he is currently its assistant coach who also has an active role in the college ranks.

However, both the team manager and the rumored replacement did not respond to SPIN.ph when asked about the looming shake-up.

Meralco bringing in 'explosive' import

AN explosive former PBA import is being considered by Meralco to reinforce the team in the coming Basketball Champions League Asia.

Coach Luigi Trillo identified the import, but requested SPIN.ph not to disclose his name pending the ongoing negotiations with the former NBA player who saw action in the finals several years ago.

The reinforcement, who suited up in an NCAA Division 1 school in college, is one of several names being considered by the Bolts for the June 9-15 tournament formerly known as the FIBA Asia Champions Cup.

From his understanding, Trillo said teams are allowed to bring in a total of three imports.

The coach said there is a good number of imports available at this time because many pro leagues around Asia had just concluded or are near the end of their respective seasons.

“So you have a lot of options to choose from,” said Trillo, whose Meralco team competed in the last two home-and-away seasons of the East Asia Super League as the representative of both the country and the PBA.
