TWO of the league’s strongest wingers in Savi Davison and Sisi Rondina will take center stage in an intriguing duel between PLDT and Choco Mucho in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals.

Davison, the High Speed Hitters’ Fil-Canadian ace and MVP frontrunner, looks forward to what will only be her fourth PVL meeting against former MVP Rondina since joining the league in September 2023.
“Obviously, she’s (Sisi) a heavy hitter. She produces points for the team,” Davison said.
“I think the top thing that comes to mind right now is just controlling our side of the net and making sure that she doesn’t score as much as she typically does.”
In their three prior matches, excluding the 2024 Reinforced Conference which both Davison (knee) and Rondina (Alas Pilipinas) missed due to injuries, Choco Mucho won twice.
When it comes to the numbers game, the hard-hitting pair always led their respective teams in scoring and posted double-doubles in scoring and receiving in all three games.
In their head-to-head matches, Rondina normed 21.7 points and 15.7 receptions while Davison posted 26.3 points and 16.3 receptions.
None of those previous occasions, however, were playoff games.
It won’t be a PLDT-versus-Sisi situation by any means as Davison is wary of the Flying Titans’ stacked pool of stars out to stop her and the streaking High Speed Hitters.
“With that (targeting and defending Rondina), we’re gonna be able to control our side a little bit more,” said Davison.
“That might be something that we’ll prioritize but they have other people that we’re trying to look out for and take care of as well, so it’s gonna be hopefully a really good (series).”
Championship or bust
At the end of the day, Davison and PLDT’s central target won’t just be Rondina or Choco Mucho.
It still is, and will always be, a maiden PVL title.
“I want to be in that really top spot at the end of the (conference). I guess it’s just preparing for that. We’ll just keep performing until we get there and when the time comes, we show up,” Davison said.
““I want a championship.”
