GRITTY Pocari Sweat used as 7-0 run to finish off upset-conscious Laoag, 25-13, 25-20, 26-24, on Monday in the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena.
“Players din eh, sila na yung nag-usap kung ano ang kailangan naming gawin eh, sa kanila rin nanggaling na gusto nila manalo,” said Pocari Sweat coach Rommel Abella.
“Very proud naman ako sa nangyari na naka-comeback kami and sa kanila rin nanggaling kung ano ang mga mali at saka kung ano ang mga kailangang gawin,” he added.
The Power Smashers were poised to extend the match but suddenly stalled after taking 24-18 third set lead and the Lady Warriors cruised to their fourth victory.
Shola Alvarez fired a service ace followed by a block on Jorelle Singh.
Myla Pablo scored on back-to-back kills to finish off Laoag.
“But siyempre hindi pa rin kami masaya kasi nagpalamang kami eh,” Abella said.
“It just so happened na yung magse-service medyo sanay doon sa ganoong pressure.”
Andrea Kacsits scored seven points, while Elaine Kasilag added six for Pocari Sweat.
Grethcel Soltones scored 10 points for Laoag, which dropped to 2-4.
The Power Smashers face a must-win situation against Bali Pure in their final elimination-round match.
