THE first finals berth in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference could be clinched as early as Tuesday, the penultimate play date of the single round-robin semifinals.
READ: Down early, Creamline always believed it can mount comeback
Creamline and Cignal, both coming off opening-day wins, are in position to strike first. But a head-to-head victory alone won’t be enough to seal the deal.

The first match of Tuesday’s twinbill at the Mall of Asia Arena will determine whether the Cool Smashers or the Super Spikers can punch a ticket to the finals ahead of the final play date, regardless of how they fare on Thursday when the semis wrap up.
For context, here’s where the four semifinalists stand after Day 1, with Cignal beating Farm Fresh in four sets and Creamline rallying past PLDT in five.

And here's how either Creamline or Cignal can get to the finals straight away:
CREAMLINE: Win vs. Cignal AND PLDT win vs. Farm Fresh

If PLDT defeats Farm Fresh in the opener, the pressure shifts squarely onto Creamline, and so does the opportunity to break through.
A win over Cignal would lift the Cool Smashers to 2–0 while dropping Farm Fresh to 0–2.
From there, no set of Thursday results can produce three teams with two wins. At most, only Creamline and the winner of the PLDT-Cignal match in this scenario can finish at 2–1.
That secures Creamline a Top 2 spot and a finals berth with no need for tiebreaks or further complications.
CIGNAL: Win vs. Creamline AND Farm Fresh win vs. PLDT

Flip the previous scenario around and the same door opens for Cignal.
If Farm Fresh stuns PLDT, it is PLDT that drops to 0–2.
Should Cignal then take down Creamline, the Super Spikers improve to 2–0 with PLDT already out of two-win contention.
From there, the ceiling is capped as only two teams can finish with two wins. And as a result, Cignal can book a finals berth as early as Tuesday night.
Here's all the possible scenarios by the end of the second day of semifinals action.
