SAN Beda kept its semifinal hopes alive in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference, defeating University of Perpetual Help, 25-19, 25-15, 9-25, 25-21, on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Nieza Viray scored 19 points for the Lady Red Spikers, skipper Cesca Racraquin added 15 and Satrriani Espiritu chipped 13.
SBU copped its second win in six outings, tied with College of St. Benilde at the fifth spot behind University of the Philippines (3-3).
“Malaking bagay sa amin ‘yun kung makakuha kami ng playoff man lang,” said San Beda coach Nemesio Gavino Jr.
“Kailangan talunin yung UP kasi humahaba ‘yung laro mas maganda exposure para sa amin kasi semifinals mas mabigat ‘yung laban eh,” he added.
San Beda will face UP on Sunday, while CSB and Perpetual Help clash on Saturday.
Condy Imbo scored 17 points for Perpetual Help, while Hershey Llorente contributed 11 as the Lady Altas bowed out of the semis race.
