CREAMLINE’S Bernadeth Pons and Choco Mucho's Sisi Rondina are set to temporarily step away from indoor volleyball duties once again later this year as they shift their focus to the 20th Asian Games in Japan this September.
Rondina confirmed to SPIN.ph that the reigning Southeast Asian Games beach volleyball gold medalists will sit out the PVL on Tour, slated from June to August, and, should their teams qualify, the Invitational Conference as well to prepare for the Asiad.

The decorated 'SiPons' tandem is currently in the middle of its Volleyball Beach Pro Tour stint in Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna as part of its buildup for the Asiad.
With the continental meet fast approaching, the two beach volleyball standouts are expected to prioritize training in the sands again over their mother clubs’ indoor campaigns during the midyear stretch of the PVL calendar.

Their planned absence would take away two of the league’s premier wing spikers from action, with Rondina serving as one of the Flying Titans' franchise cornerstones while Pons still among the most potent pieces in the Cool Smashers' championship core.
Despite that, the target timetable for both players’ indoor return remains within the year.
Rondina confirmed that the duo is eyeing a comeback by the season-ending Reinforced Conference slated in the fourth quarter of the year.
The setup mirrors previous years where the longtime beach volleyball partners balanced national team commitments alongside PVL duties, all while continuing to represent the country on the international stage.
