CAPITAL1 head coach Roger Gorayeb is ‘doing okay’ after showing visible signs of discomfort during their season-opening 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 18-25, 11-25 defeat to Chery Tiggo on Tuesday.
Once up two sets to one, the Solar Spikers couldn’t get over the line in the fifth-set tiebreak as their post-Marina Tushova began with a heartbreaker of a loss in their PVL All-Filipino Conference debut.
Over the span of their two-hour, 43-minute contest, Gorayeb was seen shivering and often sat down on the Solar Spikers bench during timeouts.

The veteran shot-caller even had to leave the court on numerous occasions.
‘He’s okay’
The good news? Gorayeb is well and in good spirits.
Capital1 rookie Roma Doromal shared a promising update on Gorayeb’s immediate status after the game.
"He's okay kasi andito naman siya, nag-show up. I don't know kung ano pa [...] pero you know naman na si Coach Roger, hindi siya ganun ka-hundred percent but still mentally hundred percent talaga siya sa game," she said.

"Very important din talaga na nandiyan siya every game and makita mo 'yung effort and passion which is very inspired kami sa kanya."
