REMY Palma is set to take on an unprecedented role as she begins a new chapter with the Strong Group Athletics (SGA) stable.
The former Petro Gazz captain will become the PVL’s first playing-assistant coach for the 2026 season, a hybrid role that will see her contribute both on the court and on the bench.

Palma will be assigned to either Farm Fresh or ZUS Coffee, with her final destination to be determined by SGA management.
The 30-year-old middle blocker was one of Petro Gazz’s key pillars following the league’s transition to the fully professional era in 2021.
During her four-year run with the Angels, Palma was part of three of the franchise’s last four championship campaigns, capped by a golden double in 2025 after Petro Gazz won both the All-Filipino and Reinforced Conference crowns in a single calendar year for the first time.
Her decorated stint with the Angels also included three bronze-medal finishes and two runner-up trophies.
Like fellow SGA-bound veteran Chie Saet, Palma was also a member of Petro Gazz’s PNVF Champions League-winning squad in 2024, as well as the bronze-medal team in the tournament’s 2021 edition.
Both Palma and Saet saw limited court time in what turned out to be their final campaign with the Angels during last year’s import-laden conference under first-time head coach Gary Van Sickle.
With Petro Gazz reportedly exploring possible merger talks with another PVL team and roster space at a premium, the departures of veteran pieces became inevitable.
Palma now joins an SGA program undergoing a major revamp, with both Farm Fresh and ZUS Coffee leaning heavily on youth development.
She and Saet headline a veteran influx that also includes former Choco Mucho standouts Royse Tubino and Bia General, alongside ex-Chery Tiggo players Cess Robles, Ren Peñafiel and Karen Verdeflor.
