POCARI Sweat rolled past University of Santo Tomas, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 25-14, to secure the top spot in the Shakey's V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Wednesday.
The Lady Warriors leaned on Bre Mackie, who fired a personal-high 27 points, including four blocks.
Myla Pablo had 16, while Siemens Dadang and Andrea Kacsits added eight apiece for Pocari, which will face the Tigresses in the semifinals which starts on Saturday.
BaliPure and Customs square off in the other semifinal pairing.
"As expected, sinabi ko naman from the start na yung UST lalaban yan," said Pocari coach Rommel Abella of their foes, who were relegated to the fourth spot with a 5-2 card.
"Good thing nakaka-recover kami sa mga bandang dulo ng sets," he added.
Indeed, the Tigresses, fresh from their Unigames title conquest, refused to go down without a fight.
Down two sets, UST found its groove in the third set and regained the lead, 16-15, that they never relinquished to take the frame, 25-22.
But the Lady Warriors burst from the gates in the fourth set and sealed the win after Sisi Rondina's shot went wide.
Laure paced UST with 18 points, while Rondina and Marivic Meneses had 10 apiece.
