BUREAU of Customs Thai import Nathannicha Jaisaen has stood out in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference, not just because of her skills but also because of what she’s wearing on the court.
The Thai setter has been noticeably wearing a baller band of President Duterte on her wrist, but Jaisaen insisted that she dons the band out of respect for team manager Roy Lawagan, who gave it to her as a gift and with specific instructions not to remove it.
“It was a gift for me from team manager,” Jaisaen said when SPIN.ph caught up with her during the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship at the MOA Arena on Tuesday.
“And he told me that, ‘you don’t remove this.' So I say, ‘ok, ok I don’t remove it,’” she added.
However, Jaisaen is not just blindly following orders. Despite being new to the Philippines, the Thai said she knows who Duterte is.
“Yes, I know him. He’s the President,” she said.
