SPARINGLY-USED Dim Pacres made the most of her break in UST's match against Bali Pure in the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference on Saturday.
Pacres finished with only four points, but they were crucial in the Golden Tigresses' 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13 win over the Water Defenders at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The crowd darling went on to repay Reyes' faith. The opposite hitter entered late in the third frame and delivered three of the last five points of the Golden Tigresses, who clawed back from a 17-13 deficit to win the set, 25-23.
She would shine again in the fourth set as she unleashed the game-sealing spike against the towering presence of Bali Pure import Katherine Morell.
The Golden Tigresses carved out their third straight win to grab solo first place.
But Pacres said the team, as confident as it is now after beating veteran teams Air Force and Bali Pure, has a lot of work cut out for them.
Marami pa po kailangan i-improve," she said.
