ANTIPOLO — PLDT's rousing start to the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference continues.
The High Speed Hitters fended off Galeries Tower's gutsy effort in a 27-25, 25-22, 25-23 sweep on Tuesday at the Ynares Center.
Fresh off an injury-related layoff, Savi Davison was back like she never left with 28 points, eight receptions and six digs in the three-set contest.
Erika Santos also proved to be a go-to scoring option for the joint league-leaders with 14 markers.
PLDT has taken its early share at the top of the table with Akari as the only two teams to win both of their season-opening assignments.
PLDT must overcome early 'lag'
Albeit unscathed to begin the league’s longest conference yet, PLDT head coach Rald Ricafort wasn’t too pleased with the slow starts in both of their first wins against NXLED and Galeries Tower.

Ricafort believes his wards should learn how to start stronger, be more consistent with their play from start to finish, and avoid those late-set comebacks – which is exciting, but certainly more tiring.
Such was the case in this match when they finished the third-set with a 10-2 run to deny the Highrisers a fourth-set extension.
