THE Premier Volleyball League (PVL) has decided to call off its preliminary round triple-header on Thursday, Jul. 25 due to inclement weather conditions brought by the joint effects of the southwest moonsoon and Typhoon Carina.

Matches affected by the suspension are Pool A contests between Farm Fresh and PLDT, Creamline and Nxled, and Galeries Tower and Chery Tiggo.
As such, the league will provide adjusted match schedules in due course.
“Due to the inclement weather brought by Typhoon Carina, all Premier Volleyball League games scheduled for Thursday, July 25, have been postponed and will be moved to a later date,” the PVL wrote.
“Stay safe and dry. Please stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled match dates.”

Pasig City, home of the Philsports Arena where all PVL preliminary matches are held, and the rest of Metro Manila have been placed under the red rainfall warning on Wednesday — indicative of torrential rains within the next 24 hours.
Among possible considerations to accommodate the three suspended matches are quadruple-headers on select game days or an additional game day altogether.
Should weather conditions permit by then, PVL action will resume on Saturday, Jul. 27 with a Pool B triple-header featuring Cignal and Capital1 at 1 p.m., Akari and Petro Gazz at 3 p.m. and ZUS Coffee and Choco Mucho at 5 p.m.
