THE country’s top volleyball stars are set to be recognized once more in the 2nd Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night on May 30 at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
Media members covering the two volleyball leagues are set to recognize the players, coaches, teams, and executives who delivered standout performances throughout the latest professional volleyball season.
This year’s edition also ushers in a refreshed look for the awards ceremony with new trophy designs by Mark Ron Castañeda, supported by Immuni+.
Major awardees will receive an Oscars-inspired trophy featuring a volleyball player in mid-spike, symbolizing the excellence and athleticism displayed throughout the season, while special awardees will be handed trophies accented by a golden volleyball motif.
Bannering the formal rites are the season MVP awards for both the PVL and Spikers’ Turf, alongside the recognition of the Mythical Team selections.
Also to be awarded are Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Executive of the Year, and the Pilipinas Live Game of the Year honor for the season’s most unforgettable match.
The ceremony will likewise recognize individual achievements through awards such as Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, Miss Quality Minutes, and the Fair Play Award.
Away from the hardwood, the Star of the Night citation will be handed to the evening’s standout in fashion and style.
A special recognition will also be given to the Alas Pilipinas Women beach volleyball team following its historic gold medal run in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
The awards night is expected to gather the biggest names in Philippine volleyball, capping another milestone season for the sport’s rapidly-growing professional scene.
