THE PVL and Spikers’ Turf are about to share the same spotlight more often, with both leagues set to bring triple-header action to the same match days in the coming season.
The new setup will see the PVL occupy the 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. blocks, while the Spikers’ Turf takes the 3:30 p.m. slot, effectively turning select match days into a full day of club volleyball.
And it will begin right away.
The format takes effect in the 10th anniversary season opener at the SM Seaside Arena in Cebu, where the opening-day triple-header will feature three matches across the two leagues.
Choco Mucho vs. Capital1 gets the day going at 1 p.m., before Alpha Insurance vs. Savouge takes over at 3:30 p.m.for the Spikers’ Turf.

The day then returns to the PVL stage at 6 p.m., with powerhouse Creamline facing Akari to close out the festivities.
Rather than treating the men's and women's leagues as separate attractions, the new scheduling approach puts both under one volleyball-day umbrella, giving fans a chance to watch three matches in one venue.
For the PVL, it also gives the league a new rhythm as it enters its 10th anniversary season.
The 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. windows will remain the PVL's primary slots on these triple-header dates, with the Spikers’ Turf filling the middle of the day at 3:30 p.m.
It is not merely an opening-day experiment as this will be the new norm for the new season, giving Philippine volleyball a more concentrated match-day experience while allowing both professional leagues to share the same stage and audience.
The matches will continue to air on Cignal’s platforms as both leagues penned a three-year contract extension for the broadcast rights, a key development ahead of the anniversary season.
