IT all comes down to one last day of action in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals.
No team was able to secure an outright finals berth after the first two days of single-round robin play, even as Petro Gazz remained unbeaten with a 2-0 record.

With Creamline and Akari tied at 1-1, and even Choco Mucho at 0-2, there still lies the possibility of three-way ties either for the No. 1 or the No. 2 position.
Here are the standings entering the final day of semis play.
- PETRO GAZZ (PGA): 2-0 (6 pts; 3.000 set ratio)
- CREAMLINE (CCS): 1-1 (3 pts; 1.333 set ratio)
- AKARI (AKA): 1-1 (2 pts; 0.600 set ratio)
- CHOCO MUCHO (CMFT): 0-2 (1 pt; 0.500 set ratio)
Should there be a triple tie for No. 1 at 2-1, the team with the best 2-1 record based on match points, then set ratio, then set points ratio will secure the first finals berth.
The remaining two teams at 2-1 will play a knockout match for the No. 2 seed on Saturday at the Philsports Arena.
Conversely, in a triple tie for No. 2, the team with the worst 1-2 record based on the aforementioned statistical tiebreaker metrics will be relegated to the battle for third series.
The other two teams with 1-2 cards will then play the do-or-die game on the same date and same venue as earlier mentioned.

But there are also certain permutations which will hand two teams outright finals berths and erase the prospect of a rubber match.
For added context, each team gets three match points for a three or four-set win, two match points for a five-set win, and one match point for a five-set loss.
Set ratios, meanwhile, are determined by dividing the total number of sets won over total number of sets lost. The same applied with set points ratio using the absolute total number of points scored in games.
SPIN.ph did the math and projected all 16 possible outcomes of the semis-ending double-header on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum — and all but one guarantees Petro Gazz' sixth PVL Finals trip.
Teams in asterisk and italics mean that their listed rankings can still be interchanged depending on how their statistical tiebreaker metrics will either increase or decrease by the end of single-round robin play.
Those in bold indicate that the team is either into the finals or still in contention for a finals berth.
