PLDT made a gritty statement on Tuesday, taking down previously unbeaten Choco Mucho in five fiercely fought sets, 25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 11-25, 15-13 in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
Kim Fajardo had 22 excellent sets to go with eight points on four attacks, two blocks and two aces as the High Speed Hitters got their acts together in the fifth set to hand the Flying Titans their first loss in five games.

“Grabe ‘yung sakripisyo namin sa training. ‘Yung hirap, ‘yung pagod, talagang dapat may makitaan no’n eh”, said Fajardo.
Savi Davinson and Erika Santos took charge in a fiery start by PLDT in the first two sets, leaving Choco Mucho’s offense bewildered and sputtering.
The Flying Titans, however, came alive in the third and fourth frames behind Sisi Rondina. But PLDT regrouped in time to win the fifth set, thanks to four crucial points from new recruit Kiesha Befonia.
“Talagang ‘yung match up, inayos lang namin, tapos ‘yung pag-remind lang talaga sa kanila na eto ‘yung situation na binabanggit before game na mahirap," said PLDT coach Rald Ricafort.

"Talagang mas mangibabaw lang ‘yung level na kalma lang kami, kalmado lang dapat," Ricafort added.
Davison contributed 21 points built on 18 attacks for PLDT while Santos notched 14 points on 13 attacks.
Rondina led the way with 25 points while Kat Tolentino and Isa Molde added 18 and 10 points, respectively, for the Flying Titans.
