PETRO Gazz showed grit in the face of a strong Farm Fresh challenge, 25-21, 27-25, 25-19, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena.
Jonah Sabete was all over the court with 11 points on nine attacks, two blocks, and eight excellent digs in the Angels' third win in four outings.

After pulling off a huge straight-sets upset over Chery Tiggo, the Foxies lost steam against the current league leaders and dropped to 2-3 (win-loss).
"For me, [my performance] was not too good. Ang laki ng tiwala ni Coach (Koji Tsuzurabara) sa'kin, pero sobrang bagal ng start ko. Sabi niya nu'ng third set, 'You can?' Inako ko na, 'I can!'

"Medyo nakukulangan lang ako sa sarili ko, lalong-lalo na 'yung teamwork namin [kasi] masyadong tagilid nung first set," said Sabete.
The 5-foot-6 outside hitter didn't lift the Angels' scoring load alone playing alongside Fil-American standout Brooke Van Sickle who dished out 26 points on 20 attacks, three blocks, and three aces.
And it was a joint effort from the Petro Gazz power duo which saved them from three set points down in the second frame en route to a set-clinching 6-1 run before putting the gutsy Foxies away in nearly two hours of action.
With Farm Fresh's top attackers held to single digits, with Trisha Tubu limited to eight and Kate Santiago to six, it was another ex-Adamson ace in Rizza Cruz who had the lion's share of the Foxies offense with 11 markers.
