The Angels draw level with the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers for third at 4-2 while handing the Lady Troopers their 19th loss in a row - and sixth in this tournament.
"I'm happy kasi what I asked my players was to be committed and consistent dun sa magandang ginagawa nila. And they became consistent and committed sa goal nila for today's game," Petro Gazz coach Oliver Almadro said.
Petro Gazz squandered an eight-point lead in the opening set, allowing the Lady Troopers to come from 17-9 down to within two points, 17-15. But the Angels quickly recovered led by Remy Palma, who tallied 10 markers.
The Angels dominated the next two sets as they banked on their offensive prowess with 41 attacks to 19 for Army, net defense with 10 blocks to four, and heavy services with eight aces to three for the Lady Troopers.
Royse Tubino was the lone bright spot for the Army Black Mamba with seven points.
