CREAMLINE’s title-winning core just got a huge boost as it welcomed American open and opposite hitter Erica Staunton as import for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference.

The eight-time PVL champions unveiled their ace signing on Thursday.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Erica Staunton, a dynamic 23-year-old open and opposite spiker from the USA, is joining the Creamline Cool Smashers family!" the club said in social media posts.

“Her talent, passion, and energy are sure to bring even more excitement to our team. Welcome to GV-kada, Erica.”
At 23 years old, the 6-foot-1 Illinois native spent her college volleyball years in two US NCAA Division 1 schools: Northeastern University and University of Georgia before her most recent overseas pro stint in Finland with Oriveden Ponnistus.
Academic achiever
Staunton is also an academic achiever in her time at the US NCAA as a four-time member of the Coastal Athletic Association’s (CAA) Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Also under her belt are two First Team and two Second Team selections, an All-Rookie Team inclusion and one of few members of Northeastern University’s 1,000-kill club.
With the expected absences of Alas Pilipinas-bound Jema Galanza, and possibly Tots Carlos, Staunton’s timely addition will be crucial as the Cool Smashers shoot for their first title in the import-laden conference in five years - and first Reinforced Conference finals trip since 2019.
Staunton is the third unveiled reinforcement after PLDT's Lena Samoilenko and Chery Tiggo's Khat Bell.
