ATENEO-MOTOLITE swept Pocari Sweat, 27-25, 25-21, 25-21, to bounce back from a previous loss in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Saturday at Imus Sports Complex.

Team captain Bea de Leon and Kat Tolentino finished with 12 points apiece for the Lady Eagles, who absorbed a straight-set beating from the Alyssa Valdez-led Creamline last week.

Ateneo-Motolite improved to 6-2 to start the second round with a win.

“I’m telling my players (that) we have to do more of what we did during the first round. Sabi ko naman every game is a learning day,” said Ateneo-Motolite head coach Oliver Almadro.

“I guess ‘yung ginawa ng team ko is (ipinakita nila) ‘yung resiliency (nila),” he added.

Ponggay Gaston, Maddie Madayag and rookie Vanessa Gandler each had six points for the Lady Eagles, while setter Deanna Wong registered 20 excellent sets and 13 digs.

Skipper Myla Pablo made 15 points for Pocari Sweat, which dropped to 4-5.
