LIKE Cignal, ZUS Coffee head coach Jerry Yee admitted considering the draft lottery as promising consolation if the Thunderbelles fail to win their group in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference play-in tournament.
If they were to do so, ‘tanking’ or deliberately putting out poor performances to lose matches has never been an option.

“Naisip natin yun bilang coaches. Siyempre strategic tayo pero hindi rin tayo pu-pwedeng mag-drop lang ng game,” Yee told SPIN.ph.
“Full effort lagi so, wala, bahala na kung saan kami magpunta.”

But after a surprise play-in win over Cignal, ZUS Coffee now finds itself with one foot on the door of the best-of-three quarterfinals and a date with 2-seed Petro Gazz.
It will now just take one more win against Capital1, whom ZUS Coffee swept in prelims play, to reach the playoffs.
Now on pole position for the coveted 7-seed, Yee makes it clear that there’s no looking back now as their sole target will be the quarterfinals alone.
For the soft-spoken mentor, the approach remains the same as it has always been since their resurgent run this conference began: one win at a time.
“We’ll win, whatever we can win. Ganun lang yun sa’min at yan din yung sabi sa’min,” Yee said.
