DEFENDING champion Pocari Sweat completes the semis cast after it turned back Perlas, 25-23, 25-15, 25-18, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
American import Michelle Strizak led the way for Pocari Sweat with 17 points and seven digs, while Cai Nepomuceno added 12 markers and Myla Pablo chipped in eight.
The Lady Warriors clinched the No. 3 spot after a 3-0 win-loss record in the round robin quarterfinals, while Creamline, which won over Air Force earlier in the day, will take the No. 4 spot.
Pocari Sweat will face No.2 seed Power Smashers in the best-of-three semis, while Creamline will battle top-seed BaliPure.
“I told the ladies just to enjoy the game kasi mas maganda ang laro nila pag naka-smile lang sila, nage-enjoy,” said Pocari Sweat coach Rommel Abella.
The Lady Warriors asserted their mastery of the Spikers, whom they beaten twice in the elimination round first without the imports and the second face off with a complete lineup.
“Kahapon pa naman sinabi ko sa kanila na we've beaten the Perlas team twice already, so we know how they play,” said Abella. “Nadagdagan lang ng dalawang imports, so minor adjustments lang ang ginawa namin kagabi.”
The semis starts on Saturday.
Brazilian import Rupia Inck made 14 points for Perlas.
