COACH Rommel Abella has warned Pocari Sweat players not to take things lightly as they go for a sweep of the V-League finals against Bureau of Customs on Monday at the Philsports Arena.
The Lady Warriors came up with a surprisingly quick three-set win in the opener, but Abella is reminded the players that Customs is capable of overturning a series deficit, like it did against BaliPure in the semifinals.
“Nakita nila 'yung nangyari sa Bali Pure and alam nila kung ano 'yung mga dapat gawin and we'll be guarding against complacency and 'yun nga kailangan mindset namin down kami 0-1 para 'yung sense of urgency namin andun,” he said.
“It's on the mindset of the players, kailangan i-instill namin na we still have to play, we just can't go in the arena and hope that Customs will just give us points, hindi naman pwede yun,” he added.
“So we'll just have to instill sa minds ng players na we have to play hard, we have to outwork 'yung effort na binibigay ng Customs and we have to double it,” he continued.
Pocari Sweat skipper Michele Gumabao said they should be able to relax only when they have secured the gold medals.
