IMUS City — Pocari Sweat shook off a sluggish start to turn back Iriga-Navy, 25-18, 25-18, 25-20, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Saturday at Imus Sports Complex here.
May Ann Pantino led the way for the Lady Warriors with 12 points, while skipper Myla Pablo had 11 markers, 17 digs and eight excellent receptions.
Pocari Sweat, which came from a four-set loss to Ateneo-Motolite, improved to 2-1.
“Definitely nag step up lahat especially ‘yung isang open spiker ko, si Pantino. Nag-step up talaga siya halos perfect ‘yung receive niya, ‘yung atake niya, ’yung depensa niya,” said Pocari Sweat coach Jasper Jimenez.
“Halos lahat nag-contribute, nagsabay-sabay so maganda (ang outcome),” he added.
Jimenez revealed that he had to let out his frustrations early in the game when they erased a 10-16 deficit in the first set.
“Oo noong una (first set) kaya napataas ang intensity ko,” he said. “Kailangan itaas ko ‘yung level ng ano ko pagsasalita ko para ma-touch ko ‘yung gusto kong ipagawa, na-touch naman siguro kaya ok naman nagawa naman nila.”
Divine Eguia finished with 11 points for Iriga, which remained winless in three outings.
