POCARI Sweat pulled off another epic comeback against Air Force, 29-27, 18-25, 25-21, 25-19 on Monday night to win a Shakey's V-League title right on its first try.

The Lady Warriors, who lost Game One, 25-17, 20-25, 25-15, 24-26, 11-15 before levelling the series in Game Two, 17-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20, made a successful V-League debut after a run of runner-up finishes in the rival Super Liga.

From a 10-21 deficit in the opening set, the Lady Warriors gathered momentum to seize control, becoming just the third rookie team to win a title after Army in Season 8 Open Conference and Sandugo-San Sebastian in the Season 9 Open Conference.

Finals MVP Myla Pablo led the way with 23 points for the Lady Warriors while Elaine Kasilag added 15, skipper Michele Gumabao had 12 and Gyselle Sy seven points, including the title-clinching service winner.

“Ang sabi ko lang sa kanila, just keep on fighting, kahit gaano kalaki ang lamang hindi kami pwedeng sumuko eh,” said Pocari Sweat coach Rommel Abella.

"Nag-usap kami ni assistant coach (Rico) de Guzman na kahit mapadikit lang namin, just to prove na kaya namin humabol and ‘yung momentum nasa amin going into the second set,” said Abella.

Joy Cases finished with 20 points, anchored on 19 kills, while Jocemer Tapic and May Ann Pantino added 13 markers apiece for Air Force, which fell a win short of a maiden league championship.
