POCARI Sweat and BaliPure look to finish off UST and Customs, respectively, on Monday as they try to arrange a showdown for the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference crown at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Led by American Bre Mackie, the Lady Warriors downed the all-Filipino Tigresses in straight sets in the opener of their best-of-three semifinals.
That moved them closer to back-to-back titles after bagging the Open Conference plum on their first try.
The match starts at 4 p.m.
The Lady Warriors earlier toppled the Tigresses in their match for the No. 1 seeding at the close of the elims.
The Water Defenders, meanwhile, slowed down Alyssa Valdez and trounced the Transformers to seize control in their semifinal.
BaliPure guns for the clincher at 6 p.m.
Valdez looks to bounce back after being held to just 15 points.
"The key that will help us beat Customs is defense. If we can do that, we'll have a chance of wrapping this one up," said BaliPure team captain Charo Soriano.
Customs coach Sherwin Meneses vowed to bounce back strong but stressed the need for his wards to toughen up on defense.
"Our problem in the first game is our defense. We need to really adjust and try to send this series to a deciding game," said Meneses.
A decider, if necessary, will be played on Wednesday.
Air Force and Cignal also look to set up a title showdown when it takes on Instituto Estetico Manila and Champion Supra, respectively, in the Spikers’ Turf Third Conference.
The Jet Spikers beat IEM in four sets, while the HD Spikers edged Champion Supra in five.
The V-League matches will be aired live over ABS-CBN Sports + Action Channel and via streaming on www.v-league.ph.
