PHILIPPINE National Police came out with guns blazing, beating Far Eastern University in four sets in a battle of winless teams on Tuesday in the Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
Thai reinforcement Patcharee Sangmuang led the way as the Lady Patrolers turned back Far Eastern University, 25-20, 25-14, 20-25, 25-19.
Patcharee finished with 23 points, while San Beda standouts Janine Marciano and Frances Molina contributed 21 and 14 markers, respectively.
PNP improved to a 1-5 win-loss record, tied with Philippine Navy, and still has a chance to move up to the next round.
Although the Lady Patrolers were behind in blocks with just three against seven by FEU, they capitalized on the Lady Tamsaraws’ 30 errors.
Mary Palma registered 19 points for the Morayta-based squad, while Bernadeth Pons added 12. FEU at 0-6 is out of contention for the quarterfinal round.
