MOMENTUM remains very much online for PLDT, as it scored back-to-back convincing victories to start the 2025 PVL All-Filipino Conference, this time at the expense of Capital1, 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, and 25-17 on Thursday at Filoil EcoOil Centre.
With Kim Fajardo conducting, the High Speed Hitters played beautiful music through four frames, even as league-leading scorer Bella Belen kept banging on the door for the Solar Spikers.

A full week ago, PLDT blanked a full-force Creamline side, with Savi Davison doing the heavy lifting.
It was the same story in this go-round, with the Fil-Canadian making her presence felt all over with 20 points built on 17 attacks on top of 11 receptions, while Kianna Dy also posed problems for Capital1 with 20 markers of her own from 16 spikes to go along with four blocks.
After quite the close first set, the High Speed Hitters blew the game wide open with an 8-1 tear that turned a three-point, 8-5 edge into a 16-6 advantage en route to going up 2-0.

Belen kept coming, however, and fired nine points in Set 3 to force a fourth, where PLDT restored order all the way to tying Nxled at second in the earlygoings of the conference.

Fajardo finished with 25 excellent sets, while Majoy Baron also added 11 points for the High Speed Hitters, including five of their 15 blocks in total, as they suffocated their opponents not named Belen.
For her part, the Solar Spikers' franchise player wound up with a conference-best 28 points, all but two coming from attacks, while also notching 12 receptions. She is now averaging 25.67 points after three matches, even as they absorbed a second straight setback.
Shaya Adorador was her only other teammate in double-digits, though, with 13 markers to her name.
