Alcantara has outranked Fajardo in setting in her rookie season so far. The former Adamson playmaker ranks fifth in the league with 3.34 excellent sets per set.
Months into the early goings of her pro career, Alcantara made sure to still be a student of the game from no less than one of the country's best-ever setters..
"Every day naman, kapag ginagamit siya, inoobserve ko talaga kung ano 'yung pwede kong makuha from her and ina-apply ko lang din kung anong nakikita ko and nao-observe ko sa kanya," she said.
"Aware naman ako na marami pa akong dapat na iimprove sa sarili ko especially sa skills."
PLDT head coach Rald Ricafort won't mind one bit having more than a few top options at his disposal.
"'Yun nga 'yung good problem namin with this lineup. Talagang ang issue lang namin usually, kung paano siya ima-manage nga na lahat mabibigyan ng opportunity lagi or kapag hinugot (from the bench), dapat sakto talaga para tumugma sa game plan."
