PLDT had to be rescued from their training facility along G. Araneta Avenue in Quezon City due to the ongoing onslaught of the southwest monsoon or ‘habagat’ in Metro Manila.
Heavy rains in the said flood-prone area left the High Speed Hitters stranded since the afternoon.

PLDT players shared scenes inside their gym and a few activities they did to pass the time, including eating and even setting up an improvised karaoke session.

At around 9 p.m., players and other team members evacuated the premises and were brought to rescue boats by the Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Army.
“Maraming salamat po to our Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Army and our volley friends who assisted in rescuing our High Speed Hitters out of the Araneta Avenue area,” the team wrote on Monday evening.
“Alam po namin na mahaba pa ang gabi niyo at marami pa kayong matutulungan. We can only hope and pray na ligtas din po kayong makakauwi sa inyong mga tahanan. Muli, maraming, maraming salamat!”

Roughly an hour later, some PLDT players shared updates on their Instagram pages where they also expressed their gratitude to their rescuers.
PLDT is set to fly out in a few days ahead of the Cebu City leg of the 2025 PVL on Tour, where it will stake its unbeaten record against co-league leader Nxled (July 26) and Galeries Tower (July 27).
