FORGET about past heartbreaks, PLDT is moving on.
With a fully-recovered Savi Davison back in the fray, the High Speed Hitters had a high-octane start to a new PVL season with a 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22 debut win over NXLED.
The Fil-Canadian spiker’s reintroduction saw her rediscover her lethal scoring ways off the bat to begin the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference with a near double-double of 19 points and nine receptions.

But it wasn't just Davison who found her rhythm in this game.
In the indefinite absence of star setter Kim Fajardo, rookie Angge Alcantara built swift synergy with the rest of her veteran teammates and had 13 excellent sets as five of them landed in double figures.
Also among their top scorers is the returning Dell Palomata, fresh off Alas Pilipinas duties, with 10 markers.
Forget and move on
Davison sat out last season’s Reinforced Conference as a rehabilitative measure from a ‘wear-and-tear’ she had on a previously injured left knee eight years ago with an ACL injury.
As is the case for any player struck down with health issues at the top of her game, watching the rest of the High Speed Hitters enter battle from the sidelines was as hard as can be.
In fact, having to wait for months made her reflect on an immense privilege she’s had by being able to play the game she loves.
“The injury itself [was the toughest part], just not being able to contribute the way I'm used to. Seeing everything from the outside perspective, I think that was the hardest part,” Davison said.
“It makes you think about all the things you should be grateful for once you get back, and just being to move again.”
While she’s keen on forgetting all about that rough patch, she’ll remain mindful of what she considers to be a huge chip on her and PLDT’s shoulders in the league’s longest conference yet.
“We all kind of have a chip on our shoulder to come back, but regardless of what happened last conference, I think we're just working hard to enter that podium spot, and that's our main goal moving forward.
“There's been a lot of changes in the PVL and I'm excited to see how things turn out with coaches, new players.
Davison furthered, “Every team's gonna come with everything that they have, so everything's gonna be competitive.”
