PLDT did what it has increasingly made a habit of doing: beating Creamline.
The High Speed Hitters handed the erstwhile unbeaten Cool Smashers their first loss of the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab series, carving out a 25-19, 25-27, 25-23, 25-23 victory on Thursday at the Philsports Arena and adding another chapter to their growing mastery of the league's winningest team.
It was PLDT's eighth win in its last nine meetings with Creamline, a stretch no other active PVL team can match against the 11-time champions.
The number becomes even more striking in the bigger picture. Only the now-defunct Petro Gazz, with 10 wins, has beaten Creamline more times in PVL history.
Thursday's result also gave PLDT's campaign a completely different shape. The High Speed Hitters began the conference with two straight losses and could have easily found themselves chasing the pack.
Instead, they have reeled off a hat-trick of wins to pull level with Choco Mucho in third place.
Savi Davison was once again at the heart of PLDT’s latest takedown of Creamline, continuing her familiar role as a thorn in the Cool Smashers’ side with 22 points, 19 receptions, and eight digs.
Dell Palomata came through with the timely hits in the clutch to finish with 13 points, while Alleiah Malaluan added 10.
Bernadeth Pons paced Creamline’s first taste of defeat in the Siklab series with 14 points, followed by Bea de Leon with 11. Jema Galanza struggled to find her usual offensive rhythm but still finished with nine points and 14 digs.
