PLDT Home Ultera took the solo lead after downing Coast Guard 25-8, 25-22, 25-15, on Monday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez and Sue Roces combined for 22 points as the Ultra Fast Hitters scored their third win in as many matches.
V-League rookie Elaine Kasilag of Perpetual Help Laguna added seven markers, while Jaja Santiago chipped in six as PLDT Home Ultera completed the win in 64 minutes.
Cagayan Valley and Meralco share second spot at 2-0.
“Nag-eenjoy lang ang mga bata,” said Ultra Fast Hitters coach Roger Gorayeb.
“Lahat ng coach gusto matapos ng three sets,” he said. “The shorter, the better. Kasi pag nag fourth set baka makaungos pa.”
Kath Magsumbol and Hyrize Macabuhay each had nine points for Philippine Coast Guard, which remained winless in three matches, tied with Team Baguio at the bottom.
