PLDT Home Ultera asserted its mastery of Philippine Army in the 12th Season of the Shakey's V-League.
The Ultra Fast Hitters, who denied the Lady Troopers in the finals of the Open Conference, demolished the same team, 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, on Sunday to rule the Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez finished with 22 points, anchored on 17 hits, to once again lead the charge for the Ultra Fast Hitters. She won Finals MVP honors despite skipping the entire run-up to the title series.
American reinforcement Sareea Freeman added 17 for while Gretcel Soltones and Sue Roces chipped in 10 markers apiece as PLDT coach Roger Gorayeb completed a hat-trick of V-League titles.
Gorayeb, however, was quick to play down the personal grand slam.
Gorayeb was quick to deflect the credit, thanking his players as well as those who supported him including Cagayan Valley head coach Nes Pamilar, who let his mainstays Aiza Maizo and Janine Marciano play for PLDT.
Aby Maraño had 14 points for Army while Jovelyn Gonzaga added 13.
