PLDT Home Telpad, playing its third match in six days, guns for the solo lead as it battles defending champion Cagayan Valley on Tuesday in the Shakey's V-League Season 11 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
The team’s recent acquisitions have yet to join them in the tournament — Dindin Santiago, Mina Aganon, Abi Marano and Royce Estampa are still seeing action in the Philippine Super Liga — but skipper Sue Roces and the rest of the Power Attackers have managed to win back-to-back.
PLDT beat both UP and Ateneo in straight sets.
The Power Attackers, who shares the top spot with idle Philippine Army, look to stretch the streak to three as they battle the Lady Rising Suns at 4 p.m.
“Gusto ko sana makapanalo as much as we can, kasi hindi kami kumpleto hindi ko alam kung kailan makakalaro ’yung apat,” said PLDT coach Roger Gorayeb.
Santiago and Aganon are with Petron, while Estampa and Marano are with AirAsia in the Philippine Super Liga.
Extending the win run could be tough for PLDT against a Cagayan Valley squad led by Aiza Maizo and Janine Marciano.
The Lady Rising Suns, which also has Adamson ace spiker Bhebs Pineda playing as libero, won their opening match in straight sets over Philippine National Police.
Philippine Air Force and University of the Philippines clash in the 2 p.m. match
Air Force (1-1) hopes to bounce back from a four-set loss to Army on Sunday, while UP is looking to score its first win after three defeats.
