MAKE that 11 wins in a row for PLDT after routing Kobe Shinwa University, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23, in the 2025 PVL Invitational on Monday at the Philsports Arena.

Mika Reyes scored three of the last four to cap her 11-point game and a 6-1 PLDT run in the third set, sending the preseason champions on the cusp of another finals appearance.

The High Speed Hitters extended the longest unbeaten run by a team other than Creamlime in the league’s eight-year history, with the latter owning the three longest win streaks at 18, 19 and 25.

They have also yet to drop a set in their first three matches after previously sweeping preseason title rival Chery Tiggo and sister team Cignal.

"Nasa isip ko lang talaga before mag-start yung game is yung paano kami makakasabay. Alam natin kung paano maglaro mga Hapon eh," said Kim Fajardo, who posted 20 excellent sets and four points in the win..

"Pagdating sa game, talagang kita natin kung papaano nga makakasabay. Happy rin ako na nagawa yung game plan at nakuha yung panalo."

Savi Davison was still at the forefront of the preseason champions' winning charge with 17 points and six digs ahead of rookie winger Alleiah Malaluan's 12 points and eight receptions.

Team captain Kath Arado repulsed the heavy-hitting Japanese young guns with 20 digs and six receptions.

Should ZUS Coffee lose to Cignal later tonight, PLDT will head straight to the PVL Finals for the second time in two weeks.

High-speed runs

PLDT had to play catch-up for the most part against Kobe Shinwa, even in a straight-sets victory.

The second set saw Davison and Malaluan join forces to erase a 14-18 deficit with a quick 10-4 counter-attack.

In similar fashion, Kobe Shinwa was poised to dodge a sweep loss when it took a 22-19 lead in Set 3.

With Reyes reignited for PLDT, the champions landed six of the last seven points in the match to deal the Japanese side its first PVL loss.
