“Another chapter begins with a familiar spark. Welcome back to where you belong, Bang Pineda,” Petro Gazz wrote.

The 34-year-old libero last played for Petro Gazz in the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference.
That was the Angels’ last championship run prior to their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference three months ago.
Pineda went on to join Akari in January 2023.

After a 19-month stint, she was bundled in Akari’s controversial sister-team trade package which saw her move to Nxled in July 2024.
The former Adamson standout parted ways with the Chameleons in May 2025.

Pineda will become the veteran fixture in the team’s three-woman libero rotation which includes fellow Adamson ace Jellie Tempiatura and Blove Barbon.
Angels come and go
On Sunday, the Angels parted ways with veteran spiker Mich Morente and now-sophomore setter Donnalyn Paralejas.
These recent string of player movements all come in the aftermath of the sudden exit of Japanese head coach Koji Tsuzurabara, with deputy Brian Esquibel expected to assume the vacated coaching post.
Petro Gazz resumes PVL on Tour play on Tuesday against Choco Mucho in Candon City where it begins the post-Tsuzurabara era with win number two of the preseason tournament in its sights.
