Returning to the import-laden conference’s most successful club is the 6-foot-2 outside hitter who once led the league in spiking (46.2% efficiency), second in scoring (212 points) and third in receiving (47.1% efficiency).

She would then lead the Angels to its first-ever PVL championship in the 2019 Reinforced Conference where she was named as the conference’s best foreign guest player.

Salas is one of five returning imports who previously played in the Philippines in either the PVL or the now-defunct Philippine Superliga (PSL), after Chery Tiggo’s Khat Bell, Cignal’s MJ Perez, PLDT’s Lena Samoilenko and ZUS Coffee’s Asaka Tamaru.
Salas sets sights on second PVL title
"She's back! The 2019 PVL Reinforced Conference Best Foreign Guest Player awardee who led the Petro Gazz Angels to a championship will refuel our journey this Reinforced Conference. Welcome back, Wilma Salas," the club wrote on Wednesday evening.
Since her triumphant first act with Petro Gazz, Salas took her talents to Poland and joined its most successful club Chemik Police with 10 Polish Championship and 10 more Polish Cup titles on top of four Polish Super Cup wins.

In total, Salas won five Polish titles and a runner-up finish in two seasons from 2019 to 2021.
The 33-year-old Cuban spiker suffered a knee injury in her Polish club's first home win of the 2021 campaign and would then move to Greece to continue her pro career with Olympiacos S.F. Piraeus.
Salas now sets her sights on winning her second PVL title in her second stint with the Angels, with only Jonah Sabete, Djanel Cheng and Chie Saet the lone holdovers from their 2019 championship run.
