SEMIS-bound Petro Gazz eyes its seventh straight victory, while Pacifictown-Army seeks to tighten its grip on third place when they take on separate foes on Sunday in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the Imus Sports Complex in Cavite.
The Angels look to sustain the unbeaten start as they take on the BaliPure Water Defenders (0-5) at 2 p.m.
“Ang kalaban naman, they will always give us a threat. What’s important ay paano kami maglaro,” said Angels coach Arnold Laniog.
Eyes will again be on Cuban import Wilma Salas, who scored a career-best 37 points on Wednesday against BanKo, and American reinforcement Janisa Johnson, but Laniog is also expecting the locals led by Jeanette Panaga to work on their game, especially after getting a brief scare from BanKo in the fourt-set match.
“Better na natalo kami ng isang set para ma-realize ng players namin na hindi ganun basta-basta itong liga,” he said.
Pacifictown-Army (3-2) battles resurgent Motolite (1-4) at 4 p.m.
The Lady Troopers are looking repeat over Motolite and post their first win streak of the conference after beating BanKo.
Motolite is also coming off a win, beating BaliPure after four losses.
