PETRO Gazz swept BanKo, 25-11, 25-23, 25-18, to boost its chances for the final four in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.
Cherry Nunag made 12 points, while Maricar Baloaloa added 11 for the Angels, who improved to 6-5 at the No. 4 spot.
It was a good bounce back win for Petro Gazz, which absorbed a frustrating five-set loss to Tacloban on Saturday.
“Sobrang gustong manalo,” said Angels coach Jerry Yee, who team came from back-to-back five-setter losses.
“‘Yun ang conclusion namin finally kumbaga nag-usap kami siyempre mahabang usapan ‘yan sobrang gustong manalo,” he added.
Petro Gazz had a near-flawless game committing only 13 errors in the match that took an hour and 15 minutes to finish.
“Kanina tinatry nating i-workout (ang weaknesses natin) o baka pagod din ang Perlas ngayon so good for us. Kailangan namin ang mga wins na ganito,” said Yee.
Dzi Gervacio single-handedly carried BanKo with 12 points for the Perlas Spikers, who slid to No. 3 with an 8-3 win-loss card.
